This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Fort Lauderdale is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Fort Lauderdale is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Thoroughly addicted to the food. The people that run this place are the best and they really love their community. It is a weekly go to for me as a vegan. Remember the food is fresh and cooked continuously so you better get there first thing in the week so you get everything you want. I always make sure to stock up. The mac & cheese is to die for and you cannot tell it is vegan and it is the best you have ever had.

Iβm not vegan but I am a foodie. Blue Tree Cafe has been on my list for years and I finally went today. To drink, I had the hibiscus-ginger cold brew. It was amazingly flavorful and well-balancedβnot too sweet with the perfect amount of tartness. To eat, I ordered the curried chickpeas, basmati rice, and steamed veggies. The first bite of the chickpeas teleported me to a flavor paradise. My eyes rolled backward and I was in disbelief on how good it was. The peas were perfectly cooked. They had a snap to them when biting in, not mushy, not hard, but texturally sublime. It was seasoned love. You can tell care went into enhancing the flavors without taking the shortcut of excess salt. The rice was great and the perfect compliment to the main dish. The steam veggies didnβt disappoint either. Again, seasoned with care and a great texture. I got desert too but wanted to share it with my vegan friend. In the evening, after jiu jitsu class I cut their mini sweet potato pie in half. I knew it would be good because of the other dishes and the aroma while unwrapping it. I loved it. My friend loved it. I look forward to working my way thru the rest of the menu. My recommendation: Go out of yo

I enjoy my vegan soul food I purchase the blue soul bowl. I wish I had another option for the protein but my dish came with crispy cauliflower which was okay. The sides were great.

Tried this place for lunch today. I was super excited because it's rare to find a vegan soul food restaurant. We were greeted by the owner despite them moving to an online order only format. She is super sweet. She definitely makes everything from scratch and with love. I had the crispy oyster mushrooms with collard greens, cornbread, and mac and cheese and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I especially enjoyed the super crunchy texture of the mushrooms and the collard greens were so flavorful. The mac and cheese and cornbread were delicious as well but the macaroni was a bit overcooked for me and the cornbread needed some seasoning. I ate the cornbread with the collard greens and it was perfect. Even the sauces were delish (ranch and chipotle mayo). It is a bit pricey but it's all fresh and "homemade". It feels like you're eating your southern grandma's cooking (the one who can cook π). Highly recommend to everyone, vegan or not.

Last year, I spotted the co-owner of Blue Tree Cafe Vegan Soul Food reviewing @the jerk stopfl and immediately added it to my never-ending "must-try" list. Well, I finally made it! Tucked away in Fort Lauderdaleβs Historic Sistrunk District, this cozy gem is serving up vegan soul food. Think Southern comfort classics, but fully plant-based such as black eyed peas, mac n' cheese, collard greens, sweet potato pie plus tasty twists like crabless balls, rasta pasta, chili, and curry chickpeas. YES, PLEASE. The vibe? Colorful, fun, and full of good energy. The customer service was on point...super welcoming and warm. And bonus: prices were totally reasonable and fyi its takeout only, no cash accepted and opened three days a week. Whether youβre vegan or just here for the flavor (hi, me), give it a try. Soul food that feeds your heart and your health? Count me in. Main Blue Soul Bowl: Choice of Cali Curry Chickpeas, BBQ/Spicy BBQ Mushrooms, or Crispy Cauli Wings, two sides and corn bread. FoodieChews: I chose the Spicy BBQ mushrooms, mac n cheese and collard greens. The spicy BBQ mushrooms were delicious! Smokey, spicy, semi sweet sauce sliced mushrooms. The collard greens were tende
